Little Sis in Nature

August 16, 2011

My sister Laura came across an image she wanted to emulate. She had the dress and scouted the location. A very overgrown empty lot in an old neighborhood. We got there right before sunset and worked fast. I love the way they came out and I know she does too. She’s leaving to live in Canada for a few months, so it was a great way to spend some one on one time before she leaves. I’ll miss you little sis, but I know you’ll have a great adventure.

Round two with the boys christmas pictures. Much better smiles from Ian this time around. Lots of fake laughing too. That kid cracks me up. Brax wasn’t really into it, but daddy saved the day by holding a tiny garden snake above my head. They both really got a kick out of that. Boys. lol.

A few weeks ago my hubby decided on a whim he wanted to take a road trip. He wanted to just drive on cool roads and see pretty stuff along the way. He found a route that is popular among motorcycle clubs. So we got in the car and we were off. It was very pretty scenery and we saw some cool little towns along the way. When we were passing thru Mineral Wells we saw this huge old building all borded up. We both love exploring old buildings so we got out of the car and walked around the outside. We would have loved to go inside, but it’s obviously against the law and we had our boys with us. I did stick my camera in a few broken out windows and got some cool shots. When we got home later that night Jayson decided to look the building up on the internet. It turned out to be the Baker Hotel. Built in the 1920′s and has been closed down since the 1970′s. It’s also one of the top 10 haunted buildings in texas. I’m glad I found that out later and not while we were there. It did seem alittle creepy. There was this one busted out window and I stuck my face in to look around. The air right inside was much cooler, like a freezer. It was strange since it was pretty warm outside and all the other windows felt like it did outside. Now knowing it’s haunted and been shut down since the 70′s it really creeps me out. Anyways, I hope you enjoy my story and looking at these pictures. Jayson’s bugging me already to go on another road trip and explore.

Every age, big or small. The carnival is here. Or atleast is was behind my house for our photoshoot. Ian is turning 4 and brax 2 shortly after him. So we’re have a joint party with a Carnival theme. I’ve really been wanting to do a carnival photoshoot for a while and I’m glad I finally got to make it happen. Despite the huge mosquitoes, we had a lot of fun. The boys did really well and the popcorn helped keep them in the right spot. This “set” will be available if anyone wants a carnival photoshoot too. I’d love to do it again, minus the bugs.

And again a few more silly faces from my boys. I actually got brax to look at the camera this time. Tonight is the night for the big carnival photoshoot. I hope it goes as well as these of brax. I can’t wait!

I was outside with my 3yr old son playing when I spotted flowers blooming across the street. So we went to check them out and I tried my hand at some macro images. I think they came out pretty cool. So enjoy the pretty flowers and blowy flowers as Ian calls them.

I just edited more snow pictures. Just having fun playing in photoshop.

Snow {Ft. Worth Photographer}

February 12, 2010

Snow……and lots of it. I still can’t believe there’s this much snow in TX, much less Ft. Worth. My kids were’nt very good subjects. My older son wouldn’t stop playing to look up at me at all and my youngest hated it. As soon as we set him down in it, even standing up, he cried. So I decided to just take pics of the snow itself. I tried out a new macro technique. I haven’t mastered it yet, but think they still look pretty cool.

Lots of new things to share. First, new blog design. It’s alittle fancier than the old one and now has a facebook link. Which leads me to my next new thing. I’ve finally jumped on the facebook bandwagon. I’ve had a myspace page for a while, but just now decided it’s time to get facebook. My next challenge will be twitter. So feel free to click the little F at the top of the blog and be my fan. Speaking of fans……I have hardly any and would like to get as many as I can. So I decided to give some incentive to be my fan. Everyone who adds me as a fan will recieve one digital file printable up to 5×7 from either a previous or future session.

Summer is coming to an end. It’s finally starting to get alittle cooler. Boy am I excited for fall to be here. So to celebrate I decided to run an End of Summer Special. Book a session from now until December and I’ll waive the session fee. That’s right……a free session. So tell everyone you know.
