I had seen another photographers pics of her kids playing with colored bubbles and it looked like alot of fun. When I showed Ian, he had to have them. So we made a quick trip to Target to pick some up. I knew they were very messy so I had them play with them in the pool. Once they figured out they could just paint with them that’s all they did. They had a blast and I got some cool pics. They loved to paint themselves and each other. And surprisingly it all washed off easily. Ian’s already asking to get some more. Maybe we’ll get different colors next time.

My hubby took Ian on the go-cart to play in the mud. I knew they would be dirty, but I was surprised by how muddy they actually got. I had taken my camera outside to take some pics of brax when they pulled up. So I began snapping away to document their mud adventure. They both can’t wait to do it again.

Just a few random images of my boys including their pretty eye lashes. As the weather warms up we spend more and more time outside and that means I have my camera ready to capture my boys being boys. Helping daddy work on the house with tools and just being cute.

When driving around a few days ago I spotted a decent size patch of bluebonnets down the street from my house. So this morning when it was overcast I decided on a whim to load the boys up and attempt a photoshoot of them on my own. It went ok, not great, but I got a few cute shots I like out if it. I think this is the first shoot I’ve done in the bluebonnets. But I have a feeling it won’t be my last.

So after being stuck inside for a few days with all the ice and snow, we finally ventured out today to play in it. We were all getting cabin fever pretty bad. The boys loved it. And daddy had fun with the go-cart too. I just took pictures. I love to look at snow, but not really play in it. I did enjoy documenting the boys adventures though. But I’m ready for it to be dry and alittle warmer. I’ve had to reschedule a few sessions and hope not to have to reschedule them again. I mean it’s february…..it shouldn’t be snowing! But since it’s here we might as well try to enjoy it.

My nephew Miles is offically two. We attempted a photoshoot in the studio. We got some good ones, but it wasn’t easy. We used everything in the studio we could think of to keep him in place. I have alot of outtakes and him running out of the frame. He thought it was pretty funny to be still until i brought the camera to my face and then he was off running. 2 yr olds in the studio are hard! And he’s pretty laid back. It also didn’t help that Brax was there running around crazy and getting into everything. Two year old boys, gotta love em.

Round two with the boys christmas pictures. Much better smiles from Ian this time around. Lots of fake laughing too. That kid cracks me up. Brax wasn’t really into it, but daddy saved the day by holding a tiny garden snake above my head. They both really got a kick out of that. Boys. lol.

Devon and Miles hung out in my studio while I attempted to get Christmas photos of them. Devon was great and did a great job hiding her cast from her broken arm. Miles on the other hand had a hard time staying on the background, being almost 2 and all. But we did get a few good solo ones and with some photoshop magic we got a few ones together too. Ian decided to get in on the fun and took a few with Devon. Lots of funny outtakes with those two. All in all we were done fairly quickly and ended up with more shots than we had anticipated. We were both very pleased.

Here they are. My attempt at Christmas photos this year. I enlisted my younger sister to take our family picture this time instead of using a tripod and timer. I’m pretty happy with the results, especially considering how the shoot went. Thanks sis, you did great! I neglected to notice all the sand/dirt in the spot I wanted to use. So all Ian wanted to do was play in it and get very dirty. Brax just wanted to explore and not sit still. But I’m glad we got a few keepers. I think I might try again to get a few more indiviual shots of the boys using a different location. My sister took the one of Ian and I’m not too thrilled with his smile and he did it in all of them. It’s still cute, but I know he can smile better than that. I have a ton of outtakes, but I’m not sure I’m brave enough to post them online.

A few weeks ago my hubby decided on a whim he wanted to take a road trip. He wanted to just drive on cool roads and see pretty stuff along the way. He found a route that is popular among motorcycle clubs. So we got in the car and we were off. It was very pretty scenery and we saw some cool little towns along the way. When we were passing thru Mineral Wells we saw this huge old building all borded up. We both love exploring old buildings so we got out of the car and walked around the outside. We would have loved to go inside, but it’s obviously against the law and we had our boys with us. I did stick my camera in a few broken out windows and got some cool shots. When we got home later that night Jayson decided to look the building up on the internet. It turned out to be the Baker Hotel. Built in the 1920′s and has been closed down since the 1970′s. It’s also one of the top 10 haunted buildings in texas. I’m glad I found that out later and not while we were there. It did seem alittle creepy. There was this one busted out window and I stuck my face in to look around. The air right inside was much cooler, like a freezer. It was strange since it was pretty warm outside and all the other windows felt like it did outside. Now knowing it’s haunted and been shut down since the 70′s it really creeps me out. Anyways, I hope you enjoy my story and looking at these pictures. Jayson’s bugging me already to go on another road trip and explore.
