Beat the heat this summer and book an Ice Cream themed mini session in my cool studio. This set will be available the whole month of July and includes everything you see in the photos. And I’m sure I can come up with something cute for any little girls that want to book. We used whip cream instead of ice cream, a whole lot less messy. My boys had a blast and I got some great images. $150 includes a 30-45min. session and 10-12 images on CD. Call or email for more info. 817-915-3689 melissa@melissadphotos.com

Kirsten, Jeff and Blake came to me to document Blake recently turning one. We started outside, but decided pretty quickly we were done with the heat and bugs. So we finished up inside my very cool studio. Blake did great. He really loved to knock his cowboy hat off, so we got a few great smiles doing it over and over. And we ended the session with a few of just mom and dad, because Blake is soon to be a big brother. I can’t wait to meet their new little guy soon.

This last week we took a small vacation to Galveston TX. When we arrived it was pretty overcast and windy so we decided to take the ferry and explore a bit. I loved watching the birds and even saw some dolphins. The next day we headed to the beach. My boys loved it and didn’t want to leave. They could play in the sand all day long. The next morning we headed home. Taking the long way and enjoying the scenery. We stopped for a quick photoshoot in the sand and to feed the birds one last time. I didn’t get as many good photos as I would have liked cause my camera kept fogging up. Then on the way  home we made one last stop at the Downtown Aquarium in Houston. It was a great short vacation. Hopefully we can take another one before summer is over.

Meet Camille and Don. They came to my studio to document Camille’s growing belly. We had a great time and tried a few different and fun things. The love between them and for the little boy inside was amazing to watch. I can’t wait to meet their little guy soon.

Meet McCartney, Sam and Jason. I met them at their apartment in Deep Ellum for a lifestyle session. McCartney is about 7mo old, a great age for portraits. Sitting up really good, but not quite crawling yet. She did awesome. So happy and full of smiles. The original plan was to explore Deep Ellum a bit, but it was just way too hot. So we took some outside in their courtyard and then quickly went back inside where it’s was cool. I had a great time and hope to see you guys again soon.

Meet baby Lila. She came to my studio at 10 days old and did great. So sweet, tiny and dainty. She took a little while to get to sleep, but once she was out we moved pretty quickly. And then she showed her beautiful eyes again for the family shots. I can’t wait to watch her change and grow.

I had seen another photographers pics of her kids playing with colored bubbles and it looked like alot of fun. When I showed Ian, he had to have them. So we made a quick trip to Target to pick some up. I knew they were very messy so I had them play with them in the pool. Once they figured out they could just paint with them that’s all they did. They had a blast and I got some cool pics. They loved to paint themselves and each other. And surprisingly it all washed off easily. Ian’s already asking to get some more. Maybe we’ll get different colors next time.

Meet Lily and her adorable brother Jeffrey. She came to my studio at 3 weeks and did awesome. As did her cute big brother. It can be hard to get sibling shots with a 3 week old and 18mo old but we got a few great ones. And then daddy wisked him away to finish the session with just Lily. She slept really good and let me pose her and move her from prop to prop. We got a bunch of really good shots. I can’t wait to see her and her brother again soon.

Meet 2 cute girls and their cute cousins. For round one we met up at Eagle Mountain Park. We got a few group shots and the little one was done. She had missed her nap that day and it was really hot, even at 6pm. So we did round 2 in my studio. She started out ok, got a few with her sister then was upset again. So, blocks to the rescue. She finally started to play and actually smile for the camera. I’m really glad we tried again and got some great images.  Mom is expecting #3 so I hope to see them all again soon.

Meet Wyatt. He came to my studio at 10 days old and did awesome. His entry into the world was alittle rough but he’s doing great now. Nice and sleepy and squishy and let me mold him how I pleased. Slept almost the whole session, but did wake up to get a few pics showing his beautiful eyes. I can’t wait to see him again when he’s sitting and see how much he grows.
