A few weeks ago my hubby decided on a whim he wanted to take a road trip. He wanted to just drive on cool roads and see pretty stuff along the way. He found a route that is popular among motorcycle clubs. So we got in the car and we were off. It was very pretty scenery and we saw some cool little towns along the way. When we were passing thru Mineral Wells we saw this huge old building all borded up. We both love exploring old buildings so we got out of the car and walked around the outside. We would have loved to go inside, but it’s obviously against the law and we had our boys with us. I did stick my camera in a few broken out windows and got some cool shots. When we got home later that night Jayson decided to look the building up on the internet. It turned out to be the Baker Hotel. Built in the 1920′s and has been closed down since the 1970′s. It’s also one of the top 10 haunted buildings in texas. I’m glad I found that out later and not while we were there. It did seem alittle creepy. There was this one busted out window and I stuck my face in to look around. The air right inside was much cooler, like a freezer. It was strange since it was pretty warm outside and all the other windows felt like it did outside. Now knowing it’s haunted and been shut down since the 70′s it really creeps me out. Anyways, I hope you enjoy my story and looking at these pictures. Jayson’s bugging me already to go on another road trip and explore.

This sweet baby girl looked just like a baby doll. At 3 weeks old, she didn’t want to sleep. But I didn’t mind, she has such pretty eyes. She did great even though she didn’t sleep. Don’t let the one with her eyes closed fool you, she was  just blinking. But it looks like she’s sleeping peacfully. I really hope I get to see her again and see how much she grows.

It is fall, the leaves are falling everywhere. That means it’s fall! Sorry, it’s part of a Yo Gabba Gabba song that I couldn’t get out of my head while editing these pictures. My hubby took the kids outside to give me alittle break. And then peaked in and said, you might want to get your camera. And I’m glad I did. Just a little impromptu photoshoot with my boys enjoying the first of many times they will play in the leaves. They love it so much, as you can see. I too love all the leaves changing colors and falling to the ground. I think it’s my favorite time of year.

Another baby planner is one. Eli and his parents met me at the Train Depot in Grapvine for his one year portraits. Despite being alittle windy and chilly Eli had a blast. Just full of smiles. It was so funny watching him try to eat rock after rock. He just wouldn’t stop putting them in his mouth. But the chair I brought worked out great and kept him from the rocks. He had missed his nap that day, but you would never know. He was so happy. He absolutly loved his cupcake. The only time he cried is when we took him away from the cake to clean him up. I hope you have a great party, get cool presents and more cake. Happy 1st birthday Eli!

Maya is back for her one year portraits. We started out at the Botanic Gardens in Ft. Worth and then came back to my studio for balloons and her first cake. She was great thru the whole thing. She loved exploring outside and then loved the balloons and cake too. Happy 1st birthday Maya, see you on Thanksgiving!

My boys really wanted to go back and do more exploring, so we did. We still didn’t get there till kinda late, but it was still wonderful. Of coarse I took a few shots of the boys and then some pretty scenery. It sure would make a great background for family portraits.

My wonderful client Brooke told me about a really cool new location. Thanks Brooke! I decided to go check it out with my boys. We got there alittle late and didn’t get to do much exploring, but we plan to go back and see more. It definately has alot of potential for some awesome photoshoots. I can’t wait to go back.

Please come and see me and these other wonderful vendors at our Holiday Bazaar. Great shopping, giveways and more. I’ll be giving away a free session. And 30% off Family Sessions. So please come see us and spread the word.

Here’s part 2 to miss Ella’s 1 yr portraits. The weather was great and she was in a very happy mood. I think she really enjoyed being outside and checking out the ponies.

Just a few quick snaps of my kids and my niece and nephew right before we went trick or treating. Skeleton (miles), Punky Brewster (devon), Little Green Man (ian), Sulley (brax). They all had a blast and got way too much candy.
